About Our Temple
Arulmigu Sivamuniswarar Thirukovil located in Masai, Plentong. In 1905, workers from JKR, located in the vicinity of the temple, exhibited a spear (Soolam) as a symbol of confidence, aiming to safeguard the local residents. These JKR workers held the belief that the spear represented as Dewa Muniswarar, would ensure their safety by warding off any malevolent forces. Interestingly, following the construction of the spear, they experienced no difficulties, and their safety was unequivocally secured. Consequently, the trust placed in the spear by both JKR employees and the surrounding community grew. Encouraged by the dedication of Mr. Uthayaman Kutti, the temple management and devotees orchestrated a special consecration ceremony (Kumbhabhishekam) at the Sri Muneeswarar Temple, solidifying the active participation and endorsement of the temple administration and devotees. Subsequently, the temple attained official registration, and all religious rites and festivities are now carried out with utmost reverence and grandeur.
