About Our Temple
Established in 1890 by employees of the Pajam estate, the Arulmigu Devi Sri Maha Mariamman Alayam temple was originally constructed using red clay and bricks. The temple features a 12-foot-tall gopuram. In 2009, Mr. Thirunalsamy and the temple committee undertook an expansion of the temple, with support from Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew. Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew not only contributed financially to the temple's construction but also donated 5 acres of land. The temple houses a karungal-made statue of Amman, believed to be more than 60 years old. The local residents express their devotion through prayers at this sacred place.

The Amman statue in this temple possesses a unique quality as it is identical to the one in the Thiruchi temple located in Karuppanpatti. Furthermore, the temple is believed to have a history of more than a century. Beneath the Amman statue, there are shillings dating back to the period between 1843 and 1890, serving as evidence of the temple's age surpassing 100 years.
