About Our Temple
Constructed in 1911, the temple has gained immense popularity, boasting 120 deity statues and 26 wall paintings encircling the temple. In the early 20th century, a group of Indian laborers, who had served Sultan Ibrahim in various locations like Mount Austin, Castlewood, and Pasir Pelangi, sought permission from their leader, Kootha Perumal Vandayar, to build a Hindu temple for the Indian community to conduct religious ceremonies. Approving their request, Sultan Ibrahim not only donated a piece of land but also contributed a sum of money for the temple's construction. Initially named Mariamman Temple, it was later renamed Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam in 1985, with the addition of "King" (Raja) to express gratitude for Sultan Ibrahim's assistance.
