About Our Temple
Around 150 years ago, it is believed that the Aathi Marathu Kaliamman Temple was established by rubber-tapping workers in the Chu Yong Estate. The current Aathi Marathu Kaliamman Temple was constructed in 1965 in the same estate. In subsequent years, land-related issues arose concerning the temple. Later, with the permission of the estate management, a dedicated plot of land was allocated for the temple. Through the efforts of the temple management and devotees, a new temple was built in 1968, followed by a consecration ceremony (Kumbabishekam). The temple is officially registered, and all rituals and festivals are celebrated with great devotion and grandeur.
