About Our Temple
The temple of Sri Maha Mariamman was built by the Tamils who lived in the area around 80 years ago. Those who worked in the fields initially considered Goddess Mariamman as their guardian deity and worshipped her by placing a trident in a small temple made of wood. They performed poojas (ritualistic worship) and sought her guidance. Later, with the efforts of the temple management and devotees, the Sri Maha Mariamman temple was officially established in 1970 with the permission of the administrative authorities. Currently, the temple conducts all its ceremonies in a grand and special manner after being officially registered.
