About Our Temple
Established in 1998 by Swami Sri Sanmuganathan Nataraja, the Sri Ashta Dasa Pooja Kaliamman temple originally found its roots near the founder's residence before being relocated to its present dedicated site. The founder generously contributed his own land for the temple's establishment. This temple has garnered a significant following, attracting devotees from both within and outside Malaysia. Daily prayer ceremonies are conducted three times a day, and Swami Sri Sanmuganathan Nataraja imparts blessings to the visiting devotees. Special ceremonies, including Ammavasai, Pournami, and Pratyangira Devi Yagam, are observed in the last week of each year. During this time, the Goddess is believed to manifest within the body of the temple's founder, Swamiji Sri Shanmuganathan Nataraja. He offers valuable advice and guidance, endearing her to devotees who affectionately refer to her as 'Amma'. Since its inception, the Aadi festival has been an annual tradition, celebrated in the temple for 48 days during July or August, featuring special prayers. The first Kumbabhishekam at the temple took place in 1999. Notably, the stone statue of Kaliamman within the temple stands at an impressive height of 13 feet, exuding a majestic presence.
