About Our Temple

Established in 1965. Karupiah Nalliah ffounded the Devi Sri Karu Maha Kaliamman Temple . He constructed the temple in Jasin using wood planks and a zinc roof near his residence in Kampung Baru India. N. Rahim Baik not only founded the temple but also offered traditional treatments to believers in need. Following in his father's footsteps, Mr. Mahalingam continued the legacy. The temple has witnessed a significant increase in visitors each year. Due to the positive response from devotees, the original small hut temple underwent multiple renovations and transformations, eventually evolving into a stone building in 1985. Subsequently, in 2018, a temple with exquisite sculptures was erected, accompanied by the Kumbabhishekam ceremony. The primary deity of the temple is Goddess Sri Veerabhatra Kaliamman, while other deities such as Muneeswaran, Chanikaruppan, Nagamma, and Murugan also reside in the temple premises. Annually in March, the temple celebrates its festival, culminating in a special prayer where devotees partake in rituals like carrying milk jugs  and kavadi. The concluding day features a lunch served to devotees, including non-vegetarian food obtained through goat sacrifices. N. Mahalingam, the temple's leader, envisions constructing a multi-purpose hall to enhance facilities for visiting devotees. Additionally, he plans to purchase two acres of vacant land from the Chinese community opposite the temple. In 2002, the temple's management officially registered the temple.
