About Our Temple
In 1950, the Sri Maha Mariamman temple was established by the laborers of Kempas cottage farm. Initially, the temple was under the ownership of the Chettiar, but it was later acquired by the management of Lian Tek. Residents from Selandar and Pondok Kempas frequently visit this temple for prayers. Currently, the temple is under the guardianship of Mr. Anggapan Kasi, whose family has been residing on the estate since 1950 and played a pivotal role in initiating the temple. In addition to the worship of Sri Maha Mariamman, this temple also reveres statues of Ganesha and Ayannar. Monthly Ammavasai prayers ceremonies are conducted in the temple, and an annual festival is joyously celebrated on the first day of January each year.
