About Our Temple
In 1920, the initiation of the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple took place at Kemuning Farm, orchestrated by laborers employed at the farm a century ago. This temple stands as one of the oldest in the state of Melaka. Initially constructed with wodden boards, the modest temple also served as a place of worship for Nepalese Hindus. In 1990, the current stone temple was erected through the dedicated efforts of Mr. Maniyam and Mr. Archunan. During the annual festivities, the Goddess Amman is traditionally paraded for three kilometers through the town of Rembia, adorned on a beautiful chariot. In 2019, a significant renovation and painting project was undertaken by Mr. Manikam, Mr. Maran, and Mr. Subbiah, amounting to a cost of RM 70,000. The Maha Kumbabhishekam was successfully conducted as part of these endeavors. The temple's primary celebration revolves around the Panguni Utthiram festival.
