About Our Temple

Sri Maha Muthu Mariamman, situated in Karangan, Kedah, was established a century ago by the local community due to the absence of nearby temples for worship. Initially, a simple wooden hut with a zinc roof housed a portrait of Muthu Mariamman, where the community fervently prayed for protection and solutions to their problems. The goddess is believed to have answered their prayers. In 2018, the temple underwent reconstruction, offering improved facilities on a larger site. The temple is registered, and its annual festival is joyously celebrated in September. The sacred space now accommodates five deity statues.
