About Our Temple
Situated in the Tampin District of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, the Arulmiku Sri Muneeswarar Temple was established by Mr. Krishnan in 1922. Under a peepal (Arasamaram) tree, he placed a stone, drawing a significant local crowd to the temple. A small hut was subsequently erected, where worship sessions commenced and the number of followers steadily increased. In the temple's earlier years, devotees practiced animal sacrifices as part of their worship rituals. Facing opposition when declaring the temple to be a saivam, the previous founder, Mr. K.S. Maniam, persevered with the support and assistance of Mr. Muthukumar Gurukal's guidance. This effort received backing from Mr. G. Sambasivam, the former National Otuwar of the Malaysian Hindu Dharma Council, and the Former Headmaster of Tampin Tamil School. Now the temple has been formally registered and completely converted to vegetarianism. It is the main place of worship of the people living in this region.
