About Our Temple
The Sree Bala Thandayutapani Temple in Padang Serai, Kedah, was constructed approximately a century ago by the local community to address the absence of a nearby place of worship. In 1922, devotees discovered a spear (Vel) under a tree, prompting them to initiate the temple's construction. Initially, a modest structure made of wooden planks and zinc roofing was erected. The temple's founders, Mr. Krishnamorthi, Mr. Ramadass, and Mr. Vadivelu, officially registered the temple land, which now houses six deities. Over time, the temple has evolved into a solid concrete building. Notably, each pillar within the temple is adorned with a Sitar statue, providing devotees with objects of worship. The local community actively participates in the annual cleaning of the temple, showcasing their collaborative commitment to its upkeep.
