About Our Temple
Constructed in 1890 by the British for Hindu laborers on the Labu Estate, this temple was suggested by its founder, Mr. Maruthamuthu, as a means to safeguard the well-being of the local Indian community. Initially, the Moolastanam of the temple was quite small. In 1989, Mr. R. M. Krishnan organized a Kumbhabishegam, and minor alterations were made to the temple. Unfortunately, due to a lack of financial support and commitment, the temple no longer observes its annual festival or Kumbhabishegam. Despite financial challenges, a small group of dedicated volunteers continues to perform the temple pooja.
