About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, established in 1918 by Tamil residents of the Kim Ayek estate, initially featured the worship of protective deities Muniswaran and Mariyamman with a small trident. Following approval from the estate management, a modest temple was constructed and continues to operate to this day. Despite the estate's closure and transformation into commercial spaces, the temple persisted as a center for worship and celebration for the Tamil community. Even as residents relocated to urban areas, the temple remained a steadfast venue for religious practices. Although the temple is compact, it holds official registration and conducts regular poojas (rituals) and festivals without interruptions. Serving as a spiritual hub for the Tamil community, the temple ensures the continuation of religious traditions with unwavering devotion.
