About Our Temple
Around six decades ago, the Tamil community in Kota Puteri, Masai, Johor, established the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. During the 1960s, Tamils in the estate area revered Lord Muniswaran and Goddess Mariamman as their protective deities, initially using a small shrine for worship. In 1982, thanks to the efforts of Mr. Sivathiyan and Mr. Paralan, the temple was constructed on a modest scale. In 1990, as the estate underwent development, the temple underwent renovations. Currently, the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple has been relocated, managed by the estate authority. The temple management, in collaboration with the landowner, played a crucial role in securing permission to move the temple to a new site. The construction of the new temple was completed in 2017, marked by a grand Khumbabishegam ceremony.
