About Our Temple
Sri Thurgai Amman Temple Senawang temple was founded in 1977. Mr. Jayapragasam, the temple's founder, had positioned a stone beneath a tree and worshipped. He built a plank-built temple the next year and finished it with a portrait of Goddess Thurgai Amman. When this temple was relocated to Senawang Jaya in 1979, a statue of Dewi Thurgai Amman composed of five different types of copper (Aimpon) was erected in a cement-structured temple. Later, in 2010, Mr. Vayapury refurbished this temple under the current management. In this temple, he has set up a black stone (Karunggal) statue of Dewi Thurgai Amman. 2014 saw the completion of the restorations, and the temple hosted a lavish Kumbhabishigam. Right now, this temple is well received by the local community.
