About Our Temple
In 1941, the Arulmigu Adi Muthumariamman Temple was established as a small shrine by Mrs. Meenatchi in a place that was previously a rubber plantation. At that time, many Indians who worked in the plantation and the surrounding areas came and settled there. In 1940, while Mrs. Meenatchi was working in the fields, she had a mystical experience. She heard a divine voice and was directed to pick up five stones lying nearby. Mrs. Meenatchi found the stones in the river, and that night, a young boy appeared in her dream and instructed her to build a temple. The next day, she discovered a stone with images of deities such as Amman, Vinayakar, Simmavahanam, and others.
