About Our Temple
The Sri Muniyandi Temple was established in 1914 during the British colonial era. This temple, over 100 years old, was built with the permission of the Pontian United Plantation estate management. Many workers at the estate reported having dreams in which Lord Muniswaran appeared near a black stone found in the midst of some bamboo trees at a corner of the estate. As a result, the estate workers began worshipping Lord Muniswaran at the stone and gradually started offering prayers in a small hut. After 2002, the temple management formally registered the temple. With the support of the devotees, the temple was fully renovated and rebuilt, maintaining its religious significance and serving the community.
