About Our Temple
In 1962, the Arulmigu Sri Ahathiswari Ambaal Temple was established by Mr. Selvarathinam Muthusamy in the Takau estate. In the early days, the deity Ambal was worshipped under a small shelter with a trident as the central symbol. Later, Mr. Selvarathinam raised funds from the devotees and built a small temple, which was consecrated with a Kumbabhishekam ceremony. After the 1980s, the temple administration undertook a complete renovation and reconstruction of the temple. During the annual festival, a procession with the deity Ambaal is carried out through the residential areas in a chariot. The temple now serves as the primary place of worship for the people living in the area.

This temple is quite different from other temples because there is a pond (Teppa Kulam) filled with lotus flowers. This captivating scene attracts the attention of devotees. This pond is special, especially on the day of the full moon (Pournami) month. Usually, most temples in South India have a pond, which, compared to Malaysia, is quite rare. This temple also holds a chariot procession every year, which is during their festival.
