About Our Temple
The Jay Sri Karumunyandi Temple is believed to be established 80 years ago by the Tamil People who lived in the vicinity of the Bandar Tenggara area. Those who worked in the fields initially considered Aiya (referring to Lord Karumunyandi) as their guardian deity and worshipped Him by placing a trident in a small temple made of wood. They performed poojas (ritualistic worship) and sought his guidance. Later, with the efforts of the temple management and devotees, the Jay Sri Karumunyandi Temple was officially established in 1970 with the permission of the administrative authorities. Currently, the temple conducts all its ceremonies in a grand and special manner after being officially registered.
