About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Karu Mariamman Temple is located in Sungai Lalang, Kedah, and it was established in 1984 by Mr. Maniam's mother-in-law. Initially, the temple comprised a small hut constructed with wooden planks and a zinc roof. The head priest placed an image of Karumariamman at the front of the structure. Devotees consider Goddess Karumariamman as their guardian deity, believing that she resolves their troubles. Mr. Maniam's brother successfully expanded the temple grounds with the assistance of the goddess, who helped overcome his challenges. Furthermore, in 1992, the temple's chairman managed another expansion, introducing a statue of Goddess Karumariamman to the temple. The temple's construction was entirely funded with its own resources and did not rely on external donations.
