About Our Temple
Sri Saiva Jada Muniswarar Devasthanam is situated in Kuala Muda, approximately 6 km from Sungai Petani in the direction of Butterworth. The temple was founded in 1969 and is privately owned by Mr. Shanmugam A/L Subbiah. The discovery of the temple dates back to October 1969 when Mr. Shanmugam's father, residing near the temple, heard a mysterious call while cycling along the road leading to the temple. Responding to the call, he witnessed the bushes parting to reveal the temple and a copper trident hidden behind them. Following this discovery, the Shanmugam family, across generations, has been dedicated to managing the temple, maintaining its legacy to the present day.
