About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was established in 1929 by the Tamil workers employed in the Sunkala estate. In the early days, they worshipped Lord Muniswaran and Goddess Mariamman as guardian deities under a small tree. Later, the temple administration planned a complete renovation of the temple in 2009. With donations from devotees and generous individuals, a new temple was constructed. By 2015, the construction of the new temple was completed, and the consecration ceremony (Kumbabhishekam) was conducted grandly. The temple is now officially registered under the name Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, and all rituals and festivals are celebrated with devotion and grandeur.
