About Our Temple
Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is located in Kampung Pahang, Tapah. The temple was founded in 1953 by Mr. Chinnan Gounder and Mr. Vellayan Gounder. It is believed that the goddess appeared in a village resident's dream and instructed them to build a temple with her idol for worship. In its early days, the temple was a small hut made of wooden planks. The idol of Goddess Ambal in the temple was crafted from cement. Later, the temple management, together with the devotees, raised funds to renovate and restore the temple. In 2008, a new temple was constructed, and the *Kumbabhishekam* (consecration ceremony) was performed. Today, the temple is officially registered and continues to function successfully, serving as a place of devotion and worship for the community.
