About Our Temple

The Sri Maha Mariamman Muniswarar Temple is situated in Kampung Besar, Kedah, and was founded in 1996 by the local community. Initially, around two decades ago, the Maha Mariamman Temple and Muniswarar Temple were distinct entities. Both Goddess Mariamman and Muniswarar were revered as guardian deities, believed to address the problems of devotees and consequently drawing a significant number of worshippers. However, when issues arose between the local community and the temple management, the decision was made to merge the two temples. In 2012, Mr. Gopu and his associates successfully carried out the merger. Presently, the temple is officially registered.
