About Our Temple
The estate residents who lived in Tanjong Karang's Sungai Terap Estate constructed this temple. It is believed that the temple was built in1910, by the estate workers, who needed a place of worship. This temple was once just a small hut with zinc roofing and wooden boards. The labourers prayed and placed an idol of Amman in the temple. This temple needed to be repaired because it had become extremely deteriorated over time. The people who live in the estate contributed money towards the construction of this shrine. The temple has been officially registered; the inaugural Kumbabishegam took place in 2011. The annual festival is scheduled to take place in the Tamil month of Chitra (April). The annual festival attracts a large number of worshippers.
