About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was constructed in 1970 in the Taman Tenang area. It was built by the local residents with the aim of having a temple in their community. Over the years, through the efforts of the temple administrators and devotees, the temple was entirely renovated and rebuilt. In 1998, the grand Kumbabishekam of the new temple was successfully conducted. Every year, during the Aadi festival, the goddess is taken in a procession through the residential areas. Within the temple premises, there is also a small shrine dedicated to a Chinese deity. Despite the presence of both the Maha Mariamman Temple and the Chinese shrine within the same compound, the people work together harmoniously, fostering unity and mutual respect.
