About Our Temple
The Sri Muthappan Alayam Guntong Estate was established in 1972 to provide a place of worship for the Hindus residing in the Guntong Estate. Initially, worship involved the use of special stones imported from India. However, after a few years, these stones were replaced with a deity statue crafted by a local sculptor from the Guntong estate. As time passed, the temple expanded, and an annual Thiruvilza ceremony became a tradition. During the Thiruvila ceremony, devotees participate by offering a pot of milk (Paal Koodam), and free meals (Annathanam) are provided to the worshippers.
