About Our Temple
Sri Sithaal Maha Mariamman Temple was built to serve as a place of worship for Hindus and Buddhists living in the surrounding area of Tapah. The temple was established in 1963 by a Chinese settler. Initially, it was a small structure with a zinc roof. Over time, the temple became a place of worship for the Indian J.K.R. (Public Works Department) workers in the area. In 1970, a J.K.R. employee named Ramalingam rebuilt the temple using bricks and constructed a tower (Vimana) for the temple. The first *Kumbabhishekam* (consecration ceremony) was celebrated in 1973. In 1998, the temple officially became a registered society after receiving approval from the Perak state registrar's office. The society was named *Sri Maha Sithaal Mariamman Devotees Society*. All rituals and festivals are conducted well in thus temple. The temple continues to serve as an important place of worship for the local community.
