About Our Temple
Around 120 years ago, in the early 1900s, Tamils working as plantation laborers in the Tapah estate area established a spear (Vel) in their residential area as a focal point for worshiping Lord Murugan. Over time, the estate community began performing rituals and offering prayers to the Vel and a black stone idol of Murugan in a simple shelter. In the 1950s, key figures such as Mr. Periyasamy Pillai, Mr. Balakrishnan, and the estate management were instrumental in advancing the temple's development. They oversaw the renovation of the old sheds and the Sanctum (Moolastham), culminating in the construction of a new temple. A Kumbabhishekam (consecration ceremony) was conducted in 2011. The temple is now officially registered, ensuring proper organization of rituals and festivals. Today, it stands as a significant place of worship for the local Tamil community.
