This temple is special because of its "grinding stone" figure of Dewa Valampuri Vinayagar. Only in this particular temple is Valampuri Vinayagar located. The deity housed in this temple, Lord Dhandayuthabani, is sculpted and shaped exactly like the deity found at Palani, Tamil Nadu. Additionally, devotees frequently see Lord Dhandayuthabani in their dreams. When a devotee prays to Lord Dhandayuthabani, they will undoubtedly receive a solution to their difficulty. It is reported that as a worker was taking a break from work during the temple's renovations, he felt someone abruptly grab his shoulder and his fatigue disappeared immediately although there was no one around. So he believed that it was Lord Dhanyuthabani who came to meet the workers who were repairing the temple.
