About Our Temple

Established in 1915 by Mr. Muthuswamy in Kuala Selangor, this temple originally consisted of a small hut housing a spear (Vel). The local residents performed customs and prayers dedicated to the spear. The inaugural Kumbabhisegam took place in 1920. In 1932, Mr. Ponniah spearheaded the construction of a temple, and the second Kumbabisegam occurred in 1938. From that point onward, Mr. Lakshmawasaka, Mr. Chellathurai, Mr. C. Karupiya, Mr. Iramasamy Chettiar, Mr. Alagappa Chettiar, and Mr. Nagalingam took on full responsibility for the temple. The temple was officially registered in 1965, with Mr. SV Naidu JP appointed as chairman. Subsequent financial support from the public facilitated the completion of the temple's development. In 1976, Yang Berhormat Datuk N.S. Maniam DPMS, JSM, played a pivotal role in the construction of a marriage hall within the temple premises.
