About Our Temple
In 1923, the residents of the area began worshipping a statue of Dewi Mariamman placed under a peepal tree. Two years later, in 1925, Mr. Ramasamy Chettiar decided to construct a temple in the same location. In 1959, the temple, built on a modest scale, was completed through donations from the local residents and the efforts of the temple association. Adjacent to the temple, a hall was constructed on the riverbanks by Mr. Veerasamy. Accordingly in 1994, the temple was completely renovated. A hall was also built nearby. In 2001, the construction work was completed and Kumbabhishekam was held successfully. Now the temple is duly registered.
