About Our Temple
The Sri Dandayuthapani Temple in Perak has been a significant place of worship for the Tamil community in Tapah. It is believed that the temple was built about 100 years ago by Tamil settlers from Jaffna who lived in the area. In its early days, the Tamil community established a small Murugan shrine in their residential area for worship. Later, through the efforts of the temple management, the entire temple was renovated and rebuilt. In 1974, the kumbhabhishekam of the Sri Dandayuthapani Temple was conducted with great grandeur. Currently, the temple is officially registered, and all rituals dedicated to Lord Murugan are conducted splendidly. Nearby, the Jagannathar Meditation Center is located, where it is said that Swami Jagannatha also meditated. The Thaipusam festival conducted at this temple is particularly significant, drawing devotees from Tapah and the surrounding areas who come to participate and receive blessings.
