About Our Temple
Approximately 100 years ago, this temple was constructed in Jeram Kuala Selangor. The Indian community that laboured as rubber tappers in Sime Darby's plantation region at the time constructed this shrine. The temple was initially built as a little hut with a zinc roof and wooden boards. The farm labourers worshipped the Goddess Mariamman, whose statue is located in this shrine and was imported from India. This temple hosts an annual celebration in May of each year. Five days prior to the day of the yearly event, special prayers will take place. In order to accomplish their promises, devotees will carry milk pot. There's a chariot procession at night.
