About Our Temple
In the 1920s, Tamilians who worked in the plantation areas in the Banting region established a temple. Mr. Kulandaiveloo, a laborer in the plantation, initiated the construction of the temple. In the 1930s, another part of the plantation witnessed the construction of a temple, and a small idol of Ambal from the Iyampalayam temple was added. In 1956, Abraham, an estate lawyer, requested the removal of the temple, and the estate provided cement and bricks for constructing a new building. The temple management, under the leadership of Sri Muniyandi Mariamman Temple, conducted the first Khumbabishegam in 1956. In 1993, with the efforts of Mr. Muthusamy and support from devotees, new idols were brought from India for Khumbabishegam, including the Nagamma statue. The temple now regularly conducts various rituals with great devotion.
