About Our Temple

The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Ladang Sungai Buaya, Banting, was established by the local Tamil community approximately 110 years ago. Those engaged in agriculture revered Goddess Mariamman as their protective deity and initially set up a modest shrine beneath a banyan tree, accompanied by a small wooden hut for rituals and prayers. In later years, Mr. Kuppusamy took the initiative, and through the dedication and contributions of the temple management and devotees, the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was officially built and consecrated in 1993. A significant contribution came from Mr. Paramasivam Ramasamy, who donated 1.5 acres of land for the temple's construction. Presently, the temple boasts an impressive new structure with multiple halls, creating a majestic appearance. Regular rituals and special pujas are conducted, maintaining a sacred atmosphere within the temple premises.
