About Our Temple

The Arulmigu Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is situated in Taman Cheras Perdana, Selangor, under the supervision of its Chairman, Mr. Murthy, who has been involved in the temple's development since the age of thirty. The temple itself is 57 years old, originating in 1960 when the area was a rubber and palm oil plantation. Initially constructed to meet the needs of people residing on the Chinese-owned estate, the temple was about 300 meters from the estate. However, due to the unsuitability of the ground for building structures amid housing development, the temple had to be deconstructed. Presently, the location features Shell and Petronas petrol stations. In 1995, the Hindu community rebuilt the temple in the form of a small hut at its current location. Nevertheless, the temple still requires funding for architectural improvements and significant changes.
