About Our Temple
Once, the Chairman of this temple came across a snake mound near the railway tracks while he was commuting to and from work. Moved by a desire for compassion, he started feeding the snake eggs and milk regularly. As a result, the tradition of snake worship developed, with Hindus living in the JKR quarters also participating. They believed that through this worship, all challenges and sorrows could be alleviated. Driven by this spiritual practice, Dato Ragu Gurukal quickly built a small hut for the snake mound and placed Goddess Nageswari Amman there to facilitate the prayers of the devotees. In 1986, the temple authorities organised the Kumbabhishyekam ceremony. Furthermore, in 2003, another temple dedicated to Lord Shiva was built for the devotees there.
