About Our Temple
Established in 1950, the Sri Sakthi Karpaga Vinayagar temple in Brickfields was originally located in Temple Road Quarters, a township housing colony. However, in 1989, due to the construction of Palm Court Condominium, a high-rise project, the temple was shifted behind S.R.K. Brickfields. The temple's Vimana Gopuram reflects the design of the Kasi Gopuram found in North India, while the overall architectural style draws inspiration from South Indian temples. On 12 June 2005, the Maha Kumbabishegam ceremony for the Sri Sakthi Karpaga Vinayagar Temple was held,. The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Sri Pichai Gurukkal Sivachariyar. The Khumbabishegam ceremony marks a significant milestone for the temple. Subsequently, on 1 March 2020, the second Kumbhabhishegam, known as the Maha Rajagopuram Kumbabhishegam, was conducted. This special ritual was performed to sanctify the newly completed Rajagopuram (monumental entrance tower) and included other significant renovations to the Temple Complex.
