About Our Temple
Around a century ago, the Tamil community residing on the Pundut rubber plantations practiced the worship of their guardian deity using a trident. Initially, their worship took place in a small hut illuminated only by a small lamp. In the 1980s, they transitioned to worshipping Mariamman in a proper temple dedicated to her. The initial temple location was situated in a significantly low area. Consequently, in 1993, the temple was relocated to a nearby site and underwent extensive renovation, culminating in the successful performance of the first Kumbabhishekam ceremony in 1996. Presently, the temple holds official registration, ensuring the smooth conduct of all religious ceremonies, including pujas. The community has formally approached the government with a request for a designated plot of land to further support the temple's needs.
