About Our Temple
The Kaikoodum Karumariamman Temple, situated in Ayer Tawar, Perak, is said to have been established in 1979 by laborers from the palm oil plantations. Surrounded by palm oil estates and seclusion, the temple originated from the workers' necessity for a place of worship. Initially, a modest structure consisting of wooden planks and a zinc roof was erected by the workers, who placed a portrait of Karumariamman inside for worship. It was believed that Goddess Karumariamman provided protection and bestowed blessings upon them. Over time, the temple underwent transformations, evolving into a stone structure, thanks to the endeavors of the new management and contributions from local devotees. Subsequently, the temple attained official registration. Aadi Thiruvilla, a significant celebration, is observed annually in this temple.
