About Our Temple

In the 1920s, individuals of Indian and Jaffna Tamil descent residing in the Sitiawan estate congregated for worship at a modest Ganesha temple. Initially, their devotions took place in a small shed dedicated to Lord Ganesha. In 1946, under the guidance of Mr. R M Ramaswami Chettiar, a small temple was constructed, becoming a focal point for worship. Subsequently, the temple gained official registration, and in 1962, Mr. S. Duraisamy spearheaded a comprehensive renovation effort, culminating in the inaugural Kumbabhishekam ceremony, thanks to the dedicated contributions of devotees and temple management. Throughout 1990 and 1996, the temple administration thrived, overseeing the construction of a versatile hall, a majestic Raja Gopuram, and a dining facility equipped with accommodations for the priests. In 2014, the temple underwent a renovation that incorporated various enhancements, resulting in its current magnificent and impressive appearance.
