About Our Temple
Around 200 years ago, Bindi served as a kangani at Sungai Wangi Farm. During that time, Lord Madurai Veeran was revered as a guardian deity to safeguard Bindi's heritage and property from theft. In honor of his migration from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Bindi placed a clay statue of Madurai Veeran and conducted puja rituals, including lighting lamps and making sacrificial offerings. Bindi's family and the Tamil community on the estate regularly visited the temple to offer prayers and participate in sacrificial ceremonies. In the 1960s, the worship at the Madurai Veeran Temple expanded to include Nagammal. Presently, the temple is officially registered and operates smoothly. Devotees visiting the Madurai Veeran Temple have the option of being served either vegetarian or non-vegetarian food based on their preferences.
