About Our Temple
The Sri Nagamalai Swami Temple in Bago Estate, Kendiang Division, Bukit Pasir, was established in 1974 by Mr. Gopal Menon. He was blessed with the divine grace of Goddess Nagammai in a dream. Following this, he visited the nearby hill revealed in his dream and discovered a snake pit. He cleaned the site, performed worship, and meditated there. Over time, the surrounding Tamil community also began worshipping Goddess Nagammai at the site. Later, in another dream, Goddess Nagammai appeared to Mr. Gopal Menon and instructed him to build a Vinayagar temple. Following this divine guidance, he cleaned a water spring at the base of the hill and constructed a Vinayagar shrine. The temple was established so that devotees could receive blessings from Lord Vinayagar before seeking the grace of Goddess Nagammai. Special prayers are held for those experiencing Nagadosham (negative planetary effects related to serpents), and the Naga Panchami ritual is also celebrated with great devotion at the temple.
