About Our Temple
The Sri Dhandayuthapani Temple was built in 1884 and has a history of over 105 years. This temple was founded by the Nattu Kottai Chettiars, who, recognizing the need for a place of worship in their residential area, established the Sri Dhandayuthapani Temple and have been worshipping there ever since. The Nattu Kottai Chettiar community played a key role in the development of the Muar town. The temple celebrates the Karthigai festival with great enthusiasm. During the festival, events such as the carrying of the kavadi and milk pots take place. On the night of the festival, it is a tradition for Lord Murugan to be carried in a chariot in a procession through the residential areas. Currently, renovation work is underway at the temple to maintain and improve its structure.
