About Our Temple
Approximately 100 years ago, in the pre-independence era, railway employees and the general public residing in the Bangsar area worshipped Goddess Nagaswari Amman in the workers quarters area. They offered eggs and milk to the snake near Nagaththirukkai and performed rituals. Later, with the development of the town planning scheme, a small temple was constructed in the surrounding area, witnessing growth and prosperity. A small temple was established with poojas of special significance to this temple. From 2017 onwards, renovation works for the temple have been ongoing. Devotees visiting the temple contribute generously, leading to significant improvements. During the Aadi festival, approximately 5000 women participate, carrying milk pots on their heads, walking from the Sri Maha Mariamman temple creating a festive atmosphere. The festival lasts for 40 days, with a grand chariot procession. Currently, the temple is actively involved in various activities and is well-maintained.
