About Our Temple
The Sri Draupathi Amman Temple was founded in the 1880s by the family of estate workers from Morib, Banting. Mr. Govindasamy and his brothers initiated its establishment, dedicating it to Goddess Draupathi Amman, their guardian deity. Subsequently, inspired by her divine grace, other estate residents joined efforts to construct a modest shrine. By the 1960s, imported sculptures from India facilitated the creation of a small temple. In the 1990s, a complete renovation led to the construction of a new temple on a 1.5-acre plot, culminating in the Khumbabishegam ceremony in 1993. Despite estate residents relocating to nearby towns over time, they remain actively involved in the temple's worship ceremonies and festivals, demonstrating unwavering devotion. The temple is meticulously maintained, ensuring that all rituals and festivities are observed with utmost reverence.
