About Our Temple
Around 50 years ago, the Tamil community residing in the West Country Estate, situated in the Kajang region and predominantly involved in agriculture, decided to establish a temple dedicated to Sri Kallumalai Karamariamman. Despite their agricultural engagements, which mainly involved tree-cutting in their plantations, these individuals created a sacred space by placing the deity's idol in a location that reflected their agricultural heritage. In their modest surroundings, they earnestly conducted poojas (rituals) using basic tools such as stones. Formal worship activities commenced in 1990, marking the gradual transformation of the site into the Sri Kallumalai Karamariamman Temple. Over time, with the backing of the temple administration, devoted followers actively contributed to the temple's development. The temple is now officially registered, and regular poojas are conducted with unwavering dedication. Thriving under the effective leadership of its administration, the temple stands as a hub for spiritual activities, uniting the community to partake in various festivals and engage in worship.
