About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Kaliamman Temple in Parit Purbo Lawut was established in 1980 by Mr. Pathumalai for the worship of Kaliamman by his family. Over time, the people living in the area also began worshipping Goddess Kaliamman. Later, shrines for Amman, Nagammamal, Murugan, and Vinayagar were also constructed. The temple features a beautiful 10-foot-tall stone statue of Goddess Kaliamman, which is a prominent and captivating sight. The temple is currently managed by the Pathumalai family. The Aadi festival is celebrated annually at this temple in the minth of July, and devotees visit daily to offer their worship to Goddess Kaliamman. On every Amavasai (New Moon) day, devotees perform special prayers and offerings, including animal sacrifice (Kida Vetti) to Kaliamman. The temple celebrates fire walking ceremony (Theemithi) annually.
